Paladina Filmes

Paladina Films is a Brazilian production company dedicated to documentary films and series, focusing mainly on projects about music, environment and social issues.

One of its best known productions, is the feature documentary “I’ll Raffle of My Heart” (2012). The film was screened in more than 40 Festivals around the world, including Brasília Brazilian Film Festival (in competition), São Paulo Intl Film Festival, Guadalajara Intl Film Festival (in competition), Cinelatino – Rencontres de Cinéma de Toulouse, Indie Lisboa and World Cinema Amsterdam.

The film won Best Film at the London Brazilian Film Festival and at InEdit Brasil – International Festival of Musical Documentaries; Best Director and Best Edition at the Fest Cine Goiânia and a Special Fipresci Award and Best Art Direction at Atlanticdoc – Int Documentaries Festival of Uruguay.

In 2013, the company produced a 6 episode series derived from the film. “I’ll Raffle of My Heart, the series” was co-produced with Canal Brazil.

“On the Stream” (2002), the first feature doc produced, was screened in various festivals as FICA – Int Environmental Film Festival; Doc Lisboa, Forumdoc.bh and the Sasà Awards – International Festival of Environmental Cinema, Italy among others.

In 2021 Paladina released the 13 episode series “Feminine Nature”, about ecology and gender (CineBrasil TV). Now Paladina is finishing the feature documentary “Nothing Like Before – the music of the Clube da Esquina” and preparing “Tropical Paradise”, about the history of the Brazilian Family.

The company is also developing its first feature fiction film, “Sex, guns and a love song” and the feature documentary “Funk U all”, on the universe of Brazilian Funk music.
